Pros: Milkshakes, burgers and views Cons: Long line, soggy fries and bland chicken sandwich

Decided to make the trek out to Shake Shack after all the reviews, especially those noting the ocean scenery. One of the first things to note is the parking. It's a very small lot and was full when we arrived. You can either drive and park at the nearby promenade and walk over, or do what we did and parked at the nearby state park parking lot. If you don't have a pass, it is $15. I ordered the turkey burger which came with fries and a soda. The burger was amazing and loved that the fries have no salt. It was quite busy but it was just a short wait for my food. On top of that, I ate my food with a view of the ocean. Will definitely return to try out their shakes.

Such a cute place beside the road and you can see the ocean view The burgers are delicious and the shakes are very nice but bit too sweet

Been coming here since high school, used to be called "The Date Shake", was good then and still is, this place never disappoints. Can't beat the view, the location and overall relaxed beach vibe here. Food is okay, but you're not here for a gourmet meal, it's just fun to get a shake and sit and watch the ocean below. Shakes are pretty good, burgers and hot dogs I hear are decent as well.

Great view while you eat ! I really like their clam chowder and fries . Their burgers are simple so it was bad or amazing . Make sure you just park there to eat too. They do not allow beach parking there

Has been my absolute favorite place for years!!!! The view never fails to amaze me every single time especially during sunset!!! Burgers & fries always taste great. I've never had a problem with their food! & their shakes are sooo good. I'm giving it 4 stars only because we all know how annoying parking can be but tbh it does go by pretty quickly. I've never waited longer than 20 min for a parking.

I feel like coming to Shake Shack at sunset is the perfect way to end a day at the beach. Something as simple as the cheeseburger (which is pretty good) is elevated by the gorgeous view and it always feels so very "socal." Burgers are a bit wet (meat sauce always drips whenever I eat here) and sometimes (especially if it's busy), people will touch your order thinking that it's theirs. Most people clean up well after themselves because I think the staff are too busy handling orders and other important things to clean up after people. Also $13-15 for a burger and fries while also supporting a local business doesn't feel bad at all. The seating area is always busy but I've always been able to find a table after a few min of waiting for my food to come out. Parking is a bit tricky and there's usually a pretty long wait to just enter the parking lot. I usually park do some shopping in the plaza across the street and then walk over to eat (less than 10 min walk). The actual line to order food may look long but it goes by very fast.

Chocolate turtle shake 8.5/10 Date Shake 9/10 Chili dog with fries 8.5/10 Seared tuna sandwich 9/10 The cold waters of the Pacific Ocean and the accompanying cold breeze have a way of making you REALLY hungry. On your way back from Crystal Cove , you can either ascend the steep wooden stairs or wait in the long line of cars for a parking spot up top on PCH.. Whichever way you get there , this place is a gem. Even as a frequent beach goer, I loved the lofty ocean-view that this restaurant provides. Despite the long line of customers and cars, the service was friendly, fast and efficient. One annoying thing is that you cannot order any sandwich à la cart, because every meal item comes with fries. Apparently they're well known for their date shake and chili dog, so I ordered and enjoyed both. The staff, I spoke to also recommended the seared tuna sandwich and the chocolate turtle shake, and both of them were delightful It's slightly pricier than most fast food options, but so worth it, considering the quality of food and the breathtaking view.

This apparently used to be a healthy shake shack back in the day, which is totally what I would expect of Southern California. The current version of the Shake Shack is clearly catering to tourists and the fraction of Californians who throw a caution into the wind. I am a tourist and observed the long line of cars along the highway waiting to order, so despite my Californian relatives warning against ingesting such sugary concoctions, I figured my 8 mile walk from El Morro and back would more than make up for my decadence. I am so glad I got to experience the incredible view and the delicious sugary shake. Incredibly well-made and wonderful vacation event. I think the burgers would be great for the next trip
